The Best of 2012: My Favorites, The Top 10 Portraits

Welcome to 2013! I hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday season. It has been absolutely crazy in my world. After the move, Spencer was very sick (we believe it was a food allergy) and now Baxter is sick! We still are not sure what is wrong with Baxter. He will be spending some time at the vet for the next few days, getting hydrated and having tests run. These dogs have not done well with relocating to Boardman, but hopefully everyone will be back to normal soon!

If you have stopped by my website in the last few days, you may have noticed there is nothing there. I have been reworking the site to make it more user friendly for mobile devices and tablets. I hope to have it back up and running within the next week or two.

Now, a yearly tradition. I love sharing my favorite portraits from the year. It gets harder and harder for me to decide, as my business grows and I photograph more clients each year. I have narrowed it down to the top 10 photos – let me know which are your favorites in the comment section below!

Bruno is just one of four dogs in his pack that I got the opportunity to photograph. I stumbled upon this tree lined area during our session and it quickly became a favorite location for dog portraits this past year.

beautiful high school senior girl graduation photo fall at the park

We had a very dreary, cold day for Keaire’s senior photos. But the weather did not stop us from creating some stunning images. She braved the cold and you can’t even tell in this photograph that it wasn’t the nicest fall day.

youngstown ohio childrens photographer girl sitting in skirt with hat smiling for portrait

For the little girl that LOVES to give me big cheese smiles every time I photograph her, this was a perfect moment caught. Her mom or brother was standing off to the side entertaining her and I was able to capture a real, genuine smile. It doesn’t hurt that the outfit mom picked was adorable and the fall setting at Mill Creek Park was lovely.

northeast ohio puppy portraits

I jumped for joy when Benji & Baxter’s owner contacted me about portraits. While these two 11-week old puppies were a handful, they were also super fun to photograph. This is my favorite image of the two dogs together. I’m still wondering what the conversation is that they are having.

youngstown ohio senior high school pictures

Drew did not take one single bad photo at her senior portrait session. We saved her favorite outfit for last and this was one of the last images I captured at her session. She used this one as her yearbook photo as well, so I think it’s safe to say it was one of her favorites as well.

boardman ohio photographer engagement photo couple laughing

It’s always a fun session when I get to photograph friends. This image was from Brian and Monique’s engagement session in the Spring. Brian is quite the jokester, so whatever he said had Monique laughing for this shot.

portrait of sisters hugging in the park with yellow leaves on the trees

The fall leaves were gorgeous during this session and the sisters are even prettier than the backdrop we found while at the park.

dog portrait park ohio

Tank was one of the most well behaved dogs I have ever photographed! His session was a breeze and he was just perfect.

canfield senior portraits girl smiling sitting in urban alley

Oliva told me before her senior photo session that she did not like to be photographed. I spent our session making her feel as comfortable as I could. The end result, cute and relaxed photos like this one.

photograph of german shepherd dog and owner

I’ve photographed Melissa more times than I can count over the years. I’ve photographed her headshots, her family and with her business partner. We couldn’t leave out the dog and I’m thrilled she scheduled a session for photos of the two of them.
