The Best of 2009: The Class of 2010 High School Senior Portraits {Columbus, Ohio Photographer}

Last in the batch of my “Best of 2009″ blog post series. I love being a senior portrait photographer, these high school students are always so fun at their sessions. I have the chance to learn a lot about them both before and during the shoot and all the great things they have accomplished and their hopes and aspirations for when they finish high school. Sorry guys, but the girls all won all my votes on this year’s “best of”. Don’t forget to let me know in the comments which is your favorite!

.

Kristina is actually a 2009 Senior, but I got the chance to do some great prom dress photos with her in the Spring.
I love the slight breeze blowing her hair and the great natural sunlight on her.

Katie’s cool outfit perfectly matched the urban backdrop of the Arena District for her senior portraits.

I’ll be using this photo of Elissa in my 2010 marketing and promotional materials.
Even though she’s not looking at the camera, this carefree moment says so much about Elissa’s fun and energetic personality.

The Best of 2009: Relationship Photography {Columbus, Ohio Photographer}

Another set of the Best of 2009! Today we’re looking at the best of my 2009 Relationship Photography. Within this group I have examples of family, engagement and wedding photography. I had the opportunity over the summer to assist my friend and fellow photographer, Melissa Jones, with her weddings. It was a great learning experience for me and I hope Melissa will have me back to help in 2010! Yet again, I had a hard time picking my favorites from the year. I decided to show one from each category of relationship photos that I offer. My favorites all share one thing in common, I’ve tried to capture the connection and emotion between these folks in each image.

.

I had such a great time with Natalie and her family at the park for this session.
This un-posed image of them playing in the colorful fall leaves is a perfect moment.

Not exactly an “engagement” photograph of Jen and Jeff since they were married prior to this image, we’ll call it my favorite “couple” image of 2009.

I absolutely love this image!! It doesn’t hurt when you have a stunning bride and groom to work with!

The Best of 2009: Dog Portraits {Columbus, Ohio Photographer}

Next stop on my Best of 2009 list – the pet portraits!! This is a tough one, all the dogs I’ve had a chance to photograph in 2009 have been beyond adorable! I really wanted to feature one of each dog from last year, but I was able to narrow it down to the top three. I hope there’s no hurt feelings from any of the pups that I didn’t make the cut for my Best of 2009! I pick my top three based on my style of shooting and really seeing the personality of the dog in the photograph.

.

Can’t beat a great action shot of this adorable Lhasa-Poo running crazy through the park.

I just love the expression on her face!!

And of course, my guy! He just looks so serious in this photograph. This photo of Baxter was one of the People’s Choice Weekly Winners for the Best Friends Animal Photo Contest in November!
