As I’ve been cleaning, organizing and archiving files I realized this would be a great time to do a few year in review posts on the blog. The next few posts will continue to highlight the different groups that I typically photograph. It amazes me to see how my photography has grown and changed into my own style over the last year. I can’t wait to see what 2010 has in store for my business!
I decided to start with childrens portraits. These kids always keep me on my feet for sure! I love the fact that most kids start out shy and quiet but by the end of a session they are totally in “top model” mode. Here are three of my favorites from 2009. Be sure to vote in the comments which ones are your favorites too!

At this point, we’ve all heard the news about the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti this past Tuesday. The Red Cross is estimating there have been 45,000-50,000 deaths from the devastation. While rescue teams and doctors around the world are headed there to help, those of us in Columbus are wondering what we can do as well.
I had remembered that last year my church participated in a peanut butter drive for Haitians through Lifeline Christian Mission and decided to take a look at their website knowing that they had a ministry in Haiti. Lifeline is headquartered right here in Westerville, Ohio. Currently, their Director, Gretchen DeVoe is in Haiti with 57 team members. They were just a few miles from Port au Prince when the earthquake hit, where Lifeline has both an orphanage and school. All the team members are safe with only a few minor injuries and they are keeping in contact with the Columbus headquarters via satellite internet.
Lifeline Christian Mission is currently accepting financial contributions to assist with relief ministry to the earthquake victims on their website. They are also accepting donations of goods including peanut butter, canned meat, powdered baby formula, shoes and summer clothes at donation locations listed on their website, including their Westerville office and warehouse. To find out more about Lifeline and how you can help Haitians in need, or to volunteer your time, visit their website at www.lifeline.org.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday season! There’s a lot of fun and new changes that will be coming up for Danielle Neil Photography this year. There will be limited session availability for January, February and March. If you would like to schedule a session for the beginning of the year, please contact me for available dates.
Some new things in store for 2010 include new products. I’m currently working on the product line, January and February sessions will be using 2009 pricing and products. I’m really excited to get samples of these products in. I’ll be sure to post them on the blog to share with everyone! I’ll also be starting a referral program in 2010. Be sure to ask me how you can earn credits towards your next print order!
I’ll also be looking for 2011 High School Seniors for my Model program. More information will be available in February for that program both on the blog and in my e-newsletter. Current Columbus area juniors who are selected to participate in the program can win some great prize and also some unique senior photography!
Be sure to sign up for the e-newsletter below. Don’t worry, I won’t be spamming your inbox. I will typically be sending out newsletters every other month with information on availability, promotions and special dates for photography sessions in the Youngstown area.
