I hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday season. It has been absolutely crazy in my world. After the move, Spencer was very sick (we believe it was a food allergy) and now Baxter is sick! We still are not sure what is wrong with Baxter. He will be spending some time at the vet for the next few days, getting hydrated and having tests run. These dogs have not done well with relocating to Boardman, but hopefully everyone will be back to normal soon!

If you have stopped by my website in the last few days, you may have noticed there is nothing there. I have been reworking the site to make it more user friendly for mobile devices and tablets. I hope to have it back up and running within the next week or two.

Now, a yearly tradition. I love sharing my favorite portraits from the year. It gets harder and harder for me to decide, as my business grows and I photograph more clients each year. I have narrowed it down to the top 10 photos – let me know which are your favorites in the comment section below!

Bruno is just one of four dogs in his pack that I got the opportunity to photograph. I stumbled upon this tree lined area during our session and it quickly became a favorite location for dog portraits this past year.

We had a very dreary, cold day for Keaire’s senior photos. But the weather did not stop us from creating some stunning images. She braved the cold and you can’t even tell in this photograph that it wasn’t the nicest fall day.

For the little girl that LOVES to give me big cheese smiles every time I photograph her, this was a perfect moment caught. Her mom or brother was standing off to the side entertaining her and I was able to capture a real, genuine smile. It doesn’t hurt that the outfit mom picked was adorable and the fall setting at Mill Creek Park was lovely.

I jumped for joy when Benji & Baxter’s owner contacted me about portraits. While these two 11-week old puppies were a handful, they were also super fun to photograph. This is my favorite image of the two dogs together. I’m still wondering what the conversation is that they are having.

Drew did not take one single bad photo at her senior portrait session. We saved her favorite outfit for last and this was one of the last images I captured at her session. She used this one as her yearbook photo as well, so I think it’s safe to say it was one of her favorites as well.

It’s always a fun session when I get to photograph friends. This image was from Brian and Monique’s engagement session in the Spring. Brian is quite the jokester, so whatever he said had Monique laughing for this shot.

The fall leaves were gorgeous during this session and the sisters are even prettier than the backdrop we found while at the park.

Tank was one of the most well behaved dogs I have ever photographed! His session was a breeze and he was just perfect.

Oliva told me before her senior photo session that she did not like to be photographed. I spent our session making her feel as comfortable as I could. The end result, cute and relaxed photos like this one.

I’ve photographed Melissa more times than I can count over the years. I’ve photographed her headshots, her family and with her business partner. We couldn’t leave out the dog and I’m thrilled she scheduled a session for photos of the two of them.

While Drew was doing a clothing change, Keaire and I talked about getting her in for a session before Ohio winter reared it’s head. We scheduled her senior photos for the last Saturday in October and Winter was creeping in quickly that day! I woke up to cold and rain and spent most of my day checking the weather forecast to see if the showers would break in time for our session. Luckily for us, it stopped a few hours before the portraits and we headed out to Bexley for her photos.

Keaire wanted to keep her senior photos a little different from her best friend and do a location other than Creekside in Gahanna. I gave her my list of locations that I thought would fit well with her look and personality. She decided to go with Jeffrey Mansion and Park in Bexley. The overcast sky created some amazing light for her photos at the Mansion. While the wind made it a bit chilly, I love when a girl’s hair blows at just the right moment when I click the shutter.

This Delaware Hayes High School senior has many sides to her personality and brought along a few different looks for her session, to showcase her personality. You’ll see in the photos below, she had no problem getting comfortable in front of the camera. When I photographed Drew’s session, I commented to them both that the first 15 minutes of the session I don’t expect them to shine. They are getting used to being photographed, taking my direction and usually most seniors do need a little bit of time to warm up to the experience. It did not take Keaire very long to get comfortable and look like her natural and gorgeous self.

To see them in their unmodified state, please view the original post by clicking here.

Back in 2009, I photographed Lindsay for her senior portraits at Creekside in Gahanna. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph her “little” brother for his senior photos at the same location. I was happy to hear that mom, Kathy, was so pleased with her daughter’s portraits that they decided to return for her son’s portraits this year.

We stumbled upon the most amazing Indian Summer day in late October for his photos. It was over 80 degrees that day and it was amazing weather. We were lucky to get his senior portrait session in when we did, just two days later the Ohio weather changed and it dropped to the 50′s with rain kicking in too. Since everyone knows what a dog lover I am, they surprised me with a little four legged visitor for the session as well! Christian had wanted to include his dog in a few photographs. I enjoy the fact that more and more seniors that I photograph have been including their pets into their senior photos.

Christian plays baseball for the Gahanna Lincoln High School Lions and brought along his jersey and some baseball gear to include in his portraits. We also made a special stop after we were finished with photos at Creekside. We dropped in at the gym where he works out. The two big things in his life right now, are baseball and the gym. I captured some images of him in the weight room for some unique senior photos. It is always fun to include the different activities that are important to each of the seniors that I photograph for an original portrait experience.

Christian was so natural and relaxed for his session. We had a good time walking around the plaza and the park with his mom picking out different locations for variety in his pictures. It was a great time working with this family again and I am so glad that they are return clients!

NOTE: the images in this feed have been downsized or removed for copyright reasons. To see them in their unmodified state, please view the original post by clicking here.

I enjoy photographing high school senior guys. Most of the time it is completely opposite to a senior girl’s photo session. The guys typically bring just two outfits. And the girls, well they would bring their entire closet to a session if they could get it all in their car. I think that most of the time the guys do like being photographed, they just do not make a big deal of the process, like the girls.

I met up with Grant at Creekside in Gahanna for his high school senior photos. It was fantastic weather for our session and the warmest day of the week. I let him know right off the bat that I would try to keep the whole process casual, painless and quick for him. The quick part was important, especially since he had plans of going to watch the New Albany High School football game later that evening.

One of the reasons I love photographing at Creekside is the variety of backgrounds in such a small area. We were able to go through parts of the park as well as the plaza for different traditional and urban looks for his portraits. It was a great location to keep the photo session quick and painless for him!

Grant not only plays golf for New Albany H.S, but is also on the baseball team. This busy guy was naming of a lot of amazing schools he has applied to for college next year. I am pretty sure that any university would love to have this wonderful and intelligent student athlete at their school in the Fall.

Grant, thank you so much for choosing me for your senior photos. Best of luck in your final year of high school and when you head out to college!
