A few folks have told me that after the initial blog post about Terri and Graham’s dogs (Teaser: 7 Dog Photo Session at Creekside in Gahanna) they couldn’t wait to see the portraits of the Dachshunds, Molly and Cinnamon. I had to save these two dogs for last, since it’s been like Christmas with all teasers from this dog session. I was excited to have both the girls in the water for a large part of their portraits and I LOVE the results from these two Doxies! The funny thing is, Molly doesn’t even like the water and Terri said she doesn’t like to get a bath! They both made their way to the water area and came on in once they saw Terri wading by the waterfall.
I must say, this entire session was so much fun, being able to photograph seven dogs with distinctive personalities and being able to capture each one of those personalities for their owners. It definitely doesn’t feel like work when I’m able to have this much fun being a photographer!
So without anymore waiting for those of you who wanted to see these two dog photographs, here are just a few of my favorites.

We'll start with an image of both Cinnamon and Molly, not in the water. What are they looking at? Well of course they're waiting for a treat!

Molly made her way to the water and quickly found a rock to chill out on.

I love her beautiful black coat!

Here's Cinnamon - what a sweetie she is!

I happily move my watermark off to the side for this photograph for the full visual effect. I love that she is on top of the waterfall and I captured just the right moment when she was shaking her head!

Meet Freckles, a charming 2-year old Basset Hound and all she wants is to have her belly rubbed! As people walked by our photo session at Creekside, everyone stopped to see what was going on with all the dogs. And, as soon as they got close to this girl, she flopped right over to have her belly rubbed! Freckles started classes last week to become a therapy dog. When Freckles’ owner, Terri, met her for the first time at the shelter, Terri realized she would make a great therapy dog with her laid back and sweet personality. Hopefully Freckles will breeze through her training and will be ready to start her new career in helping people.

These two stunning Italian Greyhounds were probably the hardest of the group to photograph. I think there was just too much going on around them with the other dogs and all the people at the park that day. 9-year-old Josie was more concerned with everything and anything around her rather than getting her photos taken. 10-year-old Guido was following his owner and making sure he had tabs on what she was doing. Both dogs were so mellow and sweet, it just took a little bit of extra work on my part to get some beautiful images of them. A lot of passers-by kept asking if Guido and Josie were puppies since Italian Greyhounds are so much smaller than your typical Greyhounds. Terri told me that every time she’s out with these two people always ask about the breed and ages. Here are just a few of my favorite portraits of these two from their trip to the park for portraits.

There's just something about the blue waterwall at Creekside in Gahanna. I had to get at least one photograph of the Greyhounds in front of it!

I love this angle of little Josie

The backdrop of the water was just perfect for this image of Guido.

Next up from Terri and Graham’s dogs is a puppy! Dotty is just 14 weeks old and what a sweetheart she is. While all the other dogs were making their way from the car, Dotty just sat on my lap and enjoyed the nice summer day. Terri told me that someone had dropped Dotty off at the Westerville Police Department and they had contacted her about taking the dog to the shelter. Of course Terri and Graham fell in love with this cutie and decided to foster her until the owner was found. No one claimed her, so it looks like she has a fun, new home along with their 6 other dogs.

She's just the sweetest little puppy!

I love her eyes. And thanks to the internet I just learned that it's called heterochromia when dogs have two eyes with distinctly different colored irises.
