All calls and emails will be returned on 9/30 and 10/1. I will have extremely limited access to email while I am gone, so please know I’m not ignoring you! I’ll be leaving good old Columbus for a few days and heading to Charlotte, North Carolina for After Dark and not a moment too soon!

After Dark isn’t a conference or workshop – it’s a little bit of both. Over 35 mentors give instruction and feedback in small groups for hands on learning. There’s numerous topics and opportunities going on at the same time. Photographers pick which mentor they want to learn from and head over to that group, if it’s not a good fit, you move on to the next group. I’ve heard amazing things about After Dark and I’m very excited to be attending! I’ll be learning about digital workflow, posing, lighting, products and marketing. And the mentors will be covering all aspects of photography – from newborn to children to families to weddings and a lot more!

I will be offering a fantastic deal on headshots, pet and children’s portraits in partnership with Images for a Cure. All the details can be found on this blog post. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this is your opportunity! I am proud to be participating again this year in Images for a Cure (IFAC). In 2009, wedding and fashion photographer, Kristen Weaver, started IFAC to help raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In 2010, 255 photographers in five countries raised over $15,000 for breast cancer research. Images for a Cure has been able to raise nearly $30,000 in the first two years of the program.

This year, I’ll be offering on-location, mini portrait sessions Tuesday-Thursday for the entire month of October. This is the perfect time to get your pet or child’s portraits done with the fall colors as a backdrop.

• The portrait session fee is $65 (you are welcome to donate more) and 100% will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

• Donations are not refundable.

• Each photo session is 30-minutes long, on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in October.

• Included in your donation, you will receive 2 high resolution images and a limited reproduction release for you to print your images or post online to social networking site.

• Additional photography prints and products will be available for purchase.

• You must schedule your portraits and make your donation by October 15, 2011 to get in on this great deal and help support the cause.

• Sessions are available for individual headshots, one child (2-16 years old) or one dog portrait.

Book your session today by using my online contact form or send me a message via email to info@danielleneil.com Be sure to note your name, phone number, who will be photographed and that you are interested in booking an Images for a Cure session. I will send you the available session times, location options and details on how to make your donation. Please show your support and book today!

I stopped in Target this weekend and they had already put up their back-to-school section. I was sad to see that the Summer and outdoor items are slowly going away. That also means that senior photo deadlines for the yearbooks are quickly approaching. Each school in the Columbus area has different deadlines from September through December. You should book your senior portraits soon to ensure that you meet your school’s deadline and so that your photo makes it in the yearbook. Your senior year will be fun, crazy and jam-packed with activities! Book now and you won’t have to worry about squeezing another thing in your Fall schedule.

I’m offering a back-to-school special for the 2012 seniors that is a fantastic deal!! If you book your August or September session by August 20, 2011 you’ll receive $50 off your session fee! And an added bonus for those of you getting a head start on your senior pics, I’m offering a complimentary 8×8 image panel with your print purchase! Image panels makes a great gift for parents and grandparents. The panels are mounted on a substrate, so they can be placed on an easel for desktop display or framed for display on a wall. The image panel is only available with the back-to-school promotion and is not for purchase separately. When you combine the $150 value of the image panel plus the $50 off your session fee, you’ll be saving $200 with this promotion!!

Ready to book your session or find out more information on beautiful senior portraits? Contact me, using the online form or email me at info@danielleneil.com soon! Sessions are held on-location throughout Columbus, including Downtown Columbus, Uptown Westerville, Creekside Gahanna and many other park and urban areas in the city. And don’t forget, there are no extra charges for each pose or limit on clothing changes!!
