Pugs In the Park | Columbus, Ohio Dog Photographer

I was recently contacted to schedule a portrait session two Pugs, Caesar and Brutus. I was thrilled when Robin found me because I’ve been itching to photograph a Pug and now I had the chance to take photos of two of them!  Pugs are great dogs– they’re a such a charming, cute and clever breed. She chose Schiller Park in German Village for the first part of the dogs’ session, then we headed to her home near the park for some additional photos in the back yard. While at the park, one parent commented to her child that those dogs were getting fashion photos.  It was too cute.

We split the session up between the two locations because Caesar couldn’t be on a leash for an extended period of time due to a spine surgery he had several months ago. Caesar is 12-years-old and very hard of hearing. My usual whistles, squeaky toys and other bizarre noises were not going to work on this dog! Instead he got a lot of treats that day, so I could get him to look at the camera. Brutus on the other hand, could hear me just fine, but was more interested in playing and also getting treats, than having his photo taken that afternoon.

Brutus, the younger of the two, was pretty wiped out by the end of the session, from all the playing. Caesar on the other hand, just kept going and going! I thought it would be the other way around. Robin let me know after the session that both of the dogs were finally worn out and were sound asleep.
