A Miniature Goldendoodle On Her Own Turf {Ohio Dog Photography}

If you are not familiar with the Goldendoodle breed of dog, they are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. I have never met a Miniature Goldendoodle until my session the other weekend. What a cutie she is! Gigi’s mom, Julie, contacted me about having photographs done of her wonderful dog after seeing a display of my work. At a whopping 2 1/2-years-old, this girl is still pretty much a puppy. Julie felt the best location for the photos was at her parents’ home, a piece of property that the dog is very familiar with. She spends a few days a week with her “grandparents” and their home is her second home. When I arrived, I fell in love with the grounds, wonderful trees and beautiful landscaping in the backyard. It really was the perfect location for her photos.

As I rang the doorbell, I heard the barks of Gigi. She was not too sure of me at first, but quickly warmed up once she realized that this new stranger had yummy treats! There were a few random barks at me while she was trying to determine if I was an approved visitor. While spending time meeting her, she ended up on my lap because I was giving out treats and back rubs. I was slightly worried that we would not be able to get photos of her if this kept up since she would be sitting on my lap the entire time! After our meet and greet, we headed out back and started with a few images of Julie and Gigi together. It’s such a great connection between a dog and their owner and I adore photographing them together. After photos of the two of them, we played a lot of ball and roamed the property for the best areas for photographs.

Just like all of my dog portrait sessions, there was plenty of rolling around, laying on the ground and getting muddy … and that was just from me. I love the images I captured of this cute little girl and I cannot wait to see which images Julie selects of her best friend. I had a really hard time picking a few of my favorite photos to post on the blog!

I had a treat, Gigi figured if she lifted her paw, she might get it quicker!
