Chrissy’s Head Shots in Gahanna

Chrissy and I met up in Gahanna last weekend for some quick head shots before her vacation in California. The Creekside area was packed because it was such a beautiful evening. The light was great for her portraits and there was a slight breeze, it was perfect conditions. Here’s a few teasers for Chrissy who I hope is having a great time out in California — hopefully she’ll bring back some of that amazing weather to Ohio!

Meet the Dachshunds: Molly & Cinnamon

A few folks have told me that after the initial blog post about Terri and Graham’s dogs (Teaser: 7 Dog Photo Session at Creekside in Gahanna) they couldn’t wait to see the portraits of the Dachshunds, Molly and Cinnamon. I had to save these two dogs for last, since it’s been like Christmas with all teasers from this dog session. I was excited to have both the girls in the water for a large part of their portraits and I LOVE the results from these two Doxies! The funny thing is, Molly doesn’t even like the water and Terri said she doesn’t like to get a bath! They both made their way to the water area and came on in once they saw Terri wading by the waterfall.

I must say, this entire session was so much fun, being able to photograph seven dogs with distinctive personalities and being able to capture each one of those personalities for their owners. It definitely doesn’t feel like work when I’m able to have this much fun being a photographer!

So without anymore waiting for those of you who wanted to see these two dog photographs, here are just a few of my favorites.

We'll start with an image of both Cinnamon and Molly, not in the water. What are they looking at? Well of course they're waiting for a treat!

Molly made her way to the water and quickly found a rock to chill out on.

I love her beautiful black coat!

Here's Cinnamon - what a sweetie she is!

I happily move my watermark off to the side for this photograph for the full visual effect. I love that she is on top of the waterfall and I captured just the right moment when she was shaking her head!

Teaser: 7 Dog Photo Session at Creekside in Gahanna

Yes, you read the title right, it’s not I typo! Saturday afternoon I headed out to meet up with Terri, Graham and their 7 fabulous dogs! When we initially planned this session it was for 5 dogs but in the time since we booked they adopted two more. Terri works for the CHA Animal Shelter and I’m amazed she doesn’t have more than 7 dogs. If I worked at the shelter I’d be in big trouble, how do you not fall in love with all the dogs (and cats) that are in need of a home?!?!

Here’s an informal photo of the whole group. I had hoped to get a group shot of the bunch, but it just wasn’t going to happen. I’ll be posting later this week with more images from this fun session.

Little Miss May’s Portrait Session at Creekside

I was excited for this portrait session over the weekend in Gahanna – adorable little May was one of my 2010 Fresh Face Portrait Contest winners. I was planning on doing her photos in Downtown Columbus, but with the Race for the Cure overtaking the area, we figured it was a better plan to go to a suburban park. If May looks familiar, it’s because I photographed her almost two years ago. There’s actually an image of her from that session, chasing after bubbles, in the slideshow at the top of the blog. May was quite the ham for the camera and needs no direction at all! As soon as she heard the shutter click, she moved into her next pose. I swear, she must have been sneaking in some episodes of America’s Next Top Model before her portraits, with her little head tilt and all! When I did happen to catch May off guard for some more candid portraits, she would stare at me with a surprised look because she hadn’t “posed” for it.
