I always enjoy when dog parents request a photography session at their home where the dog is comfortable and relaxed in their own environment. Sara had found out about my work after seeing the photos from her co-worker’s session of Caesar and Brutus, the Pugs last summer. She was ready to schedule portraits for her own dog, Lexi who is a Maltese.

I headed over to Powell to photograph this pup in the comfort of her own home. Lexi is super friendly dog, but also pretty hyper for being such a little girl. Once she donned her little purple hair bow and her Coach collar, she was ready to be an attention getter for as long as I was there. Her owner was really looking forward to a photo or two of Lexi running through the yard. We tried to play fetch with a little frisbee, but she had no interest. So we spent some time getting her to just run around a little. After she was ever so slightly tuckered out, I was able to capture some beautiful photographs of her in the backyard. We then headed to the enclosed patio so that she could pose for me on her favorite couch. I love the images I captured of her and the natural light flowing into the patio was perfect. Back outside again for more photos and we slowly crept over to the neighbor’s yard. Sara said they would not mind and we used the area around their flowerbeds for some additional images.

I *think* Lexi was finally tired when we wrapped up photos. But even then, this little dog was still full of energy! Thank you again Sara for having me spend some time in your home, photographing your little girl.

Lexi sure can jump! She works hard for treats!
