Rescue Dogs & Cats { Ohio Pet Photography }

As everyone knows, I am a huge pet lover. And I always look forward to my monthly day of pet photography at Alchemy Acres. So many puppies and kitties again this stop. Oh those puppy dog eyes and kitty purrs get me every time. It really is a good thing that I am in a rental house or I know I would try to take a few of them home with me!

So many stories for these animals. One dog, Ned, thought he had found his forever home. Being part Shar Pei, Ned is a loving and loyal guard dog. Ned was guarding one of the children at his home and snipped at a friend that was over. The dad was not too pleased with Ned and instead of working with the dog and training him, they returned him to Alchemy Acres. Obviously, Ned’s former family was not a good match for him and this sweet dog was just watching out for his humans. Ned was very calm and super intelligent when I photographed him. I am taking a guess that his people just did not properly socialize and train him. I know he will find an amazing home with people that will work hard to train him on how to act with strangers.

I photographed a loving, grey kitten, Wilfred, for the second time. The first time I photographed him, he had severe problems with his back legs and the staff at Alchemy thought that he may need to have surgery. He was dragging his back legs behind him that first time I met him. This time, he was walking all over the table happy as could be. Wilfred never needed that surgery and with some time and a lot of love and attention from the staff, he slowly began to walk on his own!

If you have room in your home and in your heart, there are many more animals up for adoption from Alchemy Acres in Salem, Ohio than the ones I photographed this week. Their website is overflowing with dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits and even birds that are looking for forever homes. Take a peek at just a few of the available animals below.
