Desh: The Cutest Dog In Columbus!

I love working downtown in the Arena District for all kinds of portraits, especially dog portraits. The area around Nationwide Arena is perfect for outdoor images, with a wide variety of locations from urban to traditional. I was happy when Allie and Andy agreed that it was a great location for Desh’s dog portraits and it suited this little Cockapoo perfectly.

Desh was the first place winner in my Cutest Dog in Columbus contest and what a cutie he is! Desh had over 450 votes to put him in first place and I see why. How could you not love that little face! We lucked into the nicest day in April so far, with sunshine and beautiful 80 degree weather with a little breeze. Desh was such a sweet and calm little dog and his fur was so unbelievably soft. Allie could easily let him off his leash to get him in position for each of his photos.

This two-year-old dog definitely makes up his mind what he will and won’t do. He made me chuckle because he wouldn’t walk over the grates and walked around them. Desh was well rewarded for his great behavior during the session, with many treats to keep him happy.

We ended our session at the Union Station Arch and McFerson Commons Park. I just love the images that I captured of him at the Arch.

We had a lovely afternoon downtown and a very successful session. I’m excited to see which image Allie and Adam select as their 16×20 gallery wrapped canvas that they won for being first place in the contest. Desh is without a doubt, the cutest dog in Columbus!
