Forever Dog Photo Session: Trixie The Miniature Schnauzer

Katherine contacted me on a Tuesday about a Forever Session for her dog Trixie. Luckly, I was able to get them in that Thursday for their session. Katherine was going to be out of town the following week and I was happy to get them in so quickly for their dog photo session. I try to leave some gaps in my schedule for instances just like this. Forever Sessions are for pets that that are elderly or who have a terminal illness.

Trixie was recently diagnosed with Leukemia after Katherine noticed something was wrong with her lymph nodes.  This poor girl has done two different rounds of chemo and remission has not lasted very long for her. They are hoping to get her into a clinical trial at The Ohio State University. Keep your fingers crossed that they can get her in. The good news is Trixie doesn’t even know that she is sick. She hasn’t exhibited any symptoms since her diagnoses!

Katherine and her husband, Pat, came to the Boardman photo studio with Trixie and her sister Trudy. We had a great session and Trixie is definitely a food motivated dog!! I was able to create some fun images of the Miniature Schnauzer sisters together. Then it was all Trixie’s turn. This pup shinned shined in front of the camera. But she’s used to the attention. She is an award winning agility dog! Her people were sure to bring a slew of her ribbons from past competitions. So many ribbons too!

We had a great session and I cannot wait for Katherine and Pat to see the images of their girls. Good luck to Trixie and her people with all of the medical treatments! It was a pleasure to have the chance to photograph her.
