Photographing Other Photographers in Columbus, Ohio

Friend and fellow Columbus photographer, Melissa, called me up one day with some top secret information. Over the last year, she’s been working with another photographer that we’re friends with, Sarah. The two have been second shooting weddings for each other over the last year. They recently decided to merge their two separate wedding photography businesses into one. They were on a tight deadline to get the announcement made, so they requested photographs of themselves ASAP for their new website.

I chatted with Melissa about their brand and what type of look they wanted to go for with these photos. I decided that Bexley would be a fantastic backdrop to their updated photos. It was insanely hot on the day we had the photos scheduled for, but it was the only time they could both meet with me. Even at 7 p.m. it was still well over 95 degrees out, so I tried to make it as quick and painless as possible for them. Two outfits and an hour later we were done and stopped at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams to get some dessert and cool down.

Melissa and Sarah both had their makeup done by Beautimarked by Kelli prior to meeting up with me in Bexley. Kelli did an amazing job, the girls looked picture perfect. I can’t stress enough to clients how great it is to have your makeup done before your portraits. It’s one less thing you have to worry about when getting ready for your photos. And, you’ll feel prettier and have more confidence. There are things that makeup artists can do that can’t even be done in Photoshop!

I love the way the photos for Melissa and Sarah turned out. You can tell they have such fun-loving and funky personalities. Below are a couple of my favorites from their portrait session. And, you can find out all about their new partnership called Love Junkies.
